Great Side Gigs for Those That Love Fitness

Have you been looking for a side gig that you don’t hate? Consider monetising your fitness. If you’re really into physical fitness, there are some great options that you can pursue to bring in some extra cash. As an added benefit, you’ll likely be able to continue working on your own fitness at the same time.

Personal Trainer

Being a personal trainer lets you put your knowledge of the human body to work. You’ll likely be working with clients in a one-on-one setting, allowing you to customise fitness routines to their specific needs. Different gyms may have different requirements and qualifications, but typically some education and certifications are required to become a personal trainer. Sometimes personal trainers will offer additional services beyond just the workout, such as dietary counselling and other weight loss strategies. If you want to work with individuals and help them improve their health and fitness, becoming a personal trainer might be a good option for you.

Teach a Class

Teaching a fitness class is a great way to make some extra money while simultaneously working on your own fitness. It takes more to become a fitness instructor than just deciding to do it though. Take becoming a yoga instructor, for example. You need a yoga instructor certification before teaching a class. This means learning about different aspects of yoga including the asanas and alignment, how anatomy and physiology works with yoga, and meditation and the philosophy of yoga. You’ll also need to practice regularly to deepen your personal understanding of yoga. There’s a decent amount that goes into it, but the journey can be very worthwhile.

Online Fitness Channel

With many gyms being shut down because of the pandemic, online fitness videos and channels have really taken off. Workout routines that don’t take much, if any, equipment are especially useful for those who may not have a home gym setup going for them already. Make sure your content is good quality, simple, and unique. Once you have a channel and a good video, work on monetising your channel to generate some passive income.

If you love fitness, starting a related side gig might be a good move for you. There are lots of things you can do that get you moving and earn you money. Becoming a personal trainer, teaching a class, and starting an online fitness channel are just the beginning. Consider all your options and choose the one that works best for you.
